Meet Robert: 13 Years of Fire Safety Expertise and Why He Joined SAFEblu
SAFEblu: Hi Robert, How long have you been working in the fire safety industry?
Robert: I've been in the industry for just about 13 years now. I'm certified in all of those courses: portable fire extinguishers and pre-engineered fire suppression systems, and I'm also working my way through the Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) certification as well.

SAFEblu: What is your specialization area?
Robert: I am a fire suppression specialist. I work a little bit on everything related to fire suppression, but my forte is pre-engineered automated fire suppression systems. I work for SAFEblu because it is one of the few family-owned and family-operated companies that is still operated successfully. We know that there are mostly major companies in this industry that are being bought by other major companies. I believe SAFEblu is still delivering on its promise and working closely with so many of its old customers in Calgary and its surrounding cities and towns.

SAFEblu: Robert, you also teach at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Which kind of courses are you teaching there?
Robert: This is my second year of teaching at SAIT. As SAIT, I teach MNTN 103 and MNTN 104. These are the Portable Extinguisher Certification and the Pre-Engineered Restaurant Suppression Certification courses.
SAFEblu: Tell us something about your teaching experience at SAIT, and how is your teaching experience helping you as a professional in fire safety?
Robert: Since joining the team at SAIT, it's made me more knowledgeable in the codes. It has given me more in-depth knowledge about the building codes and the fire codes. My teaching experience has simply given me a better foundation in the fire safety industry. It has helped me grow as a fire safety professional from just being a labouring technician to being a more sound, technical code-reading technician.

SAFEblu: What message do you want to give to a new customer in Calgary who is looking for a fire and safety company in Calgary and surrounding towns?
Robert: I feel like going with SAFEblu is a good choice for a new customer because we're a local family-owned and operated company. But we're also consumers like new customers as well, so you know, we understand, especially in today's economy, how important keeping dollars in your own pocket is. So I feel like at SAFEblu, we would never sell you something that you don't need, we would never offer you something that we can't deliver on, and we would never cut corners, you know, just to get the job done.

SAFEblu: SAFEblu has recently launched a $599 per month all-in-one compliance solution. What is it?
Robert: SAFEblu's all-in-one compliance solution is a $599/month commercial kitchen subscription tailored for Calgary restaurant operators and commercial property managers. It consolidates fragmented services, such as exhaust hood cleaning, fire protection maintenance, and pest control, into a single integrated provider to eliminate administrative friction, cross-system liability gaps, and unpredictable line-item fees under the National Fire Code – 2023 Alberta Edition. This is basically a subscription model to keep you safe and hassle-free. We take care of everything from top to bottom. This is a set-it-and-forget-it program so that you can focus on your business growth rather than wasting time on different kinds of compliances. This happens because SAFEblu takes care of all your management needs and does all the heavy lifting.
